David Haarmeyer, Content Specialist

David is a private markets content and domain expert.

His work is focused on marketing—thought pieces, case studies, and newsletters, as well as product content—private placement memorandums (PPMs), pitch books, webcast presentations, and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs). He has also participated in LP/GP perception studies and on branding projects to identify and articulate key firm differentiators, as well as written byline articles.

David’s clients have included private equity and infrastructure groups such as CBRE Caledon Capital, Clarion Capital, Denham Capital, Hamilton Lane, HarbourVest Partners, Summit Partners, Siguler Guff, The Riverside Company, THL, Timberland Investment Resources, as well as consultants, placement agents, and service providers including BerchWood Partners, Cambridge Associates, Cerulli Associates, eFront, EY, Duane Morris, GenII, PEI Media, Lionpoint Group, Privcap, Prosek Partners, JackRabbit Design, and Silver Oven Studios.

In addition to writing Hamilton Lane’s first annual market overview (2012/2013), he helped develop Duane Morris’ “Inside the Mind of the Limited Partner” series (2010-2015), and has published thought pieces on portfolio construction, co-investment, secondaries, and private market opportunities in Fintech, oil & gas, mining, water, renewables, and impact investing.

David has a MA in economics and before focusing on private markets was a consultant for Cambridge Energy Research Associates, the World Bank, and the Global Environment Fund.
Matt began his career as a political operative, working with the Nevada Democratic Party, as Press Secretary for the Speaker of the Nevada Assembly, and as Deputy Press Secretary with Obama for America.  He graduated on the dean’s list in 2006 from The University of Redlands in Southern California with a BA in English; Writing. He also holds an MPA (Masters; Public Affairs) from The School of Public Affairs at Baruch College in Manhattan.
